From 12 July to 11 August 2019, we are happy to announce that we are collaborating with Hong Kong designers Cynthia & Xiao

Cynthia & Xiao is a Hong Kong-based knitwear label that prides itself in making playful feel-good clothing. With a whimsical atmosphere, the brand is the namesake of its two founders – Cynthia Mak and Xiao Xiao.

Born in Hong Kong, Cynthia studied fashion design abroad in London. She was featured Italian Vogue as a designer to watch, and has worked with prestigious houses such as Alexander McQueen, and Vivienne Westwood. Similarly, Xiao Xiao was born in Beijing but studied abroad at the Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design in London. She specialised in knitwear, and has returned to work in Asia for the past few years. Combining their design expertise, they make a dynamic duo producing bold knitted designs that are a way of expressing the many facets of our identity. With both men, women, and children’s wear,  theirs is a label that believes in making people feel good about themselves. Much like the #DARETO theme of our current season, Cynthia & Xiao is a brand which encourages its wearers to be comfortable with who they are.

Their latest collection, entitled “The Bad Habit” collection is a collaboration between Korean illustrator Minkyung Lee. With bold designs and illustrations, the collection puts an ironically (and playful) spin on our many bad habits – smoking, phone addiction, laziness. It’s a way of showing our real selves, and to DARE TO express it unashamedly through fashion. After all – who can claim that they are fully perfect?

The Bad Habit collection is exclusively available at MODEMENT in Hong Kong. Alongside adult clothing, they also have children’s wear available. Swing by to our MODEMENT Concept Store at PMQ anytime between now and August to see Cynthia & Xiao’s latest collection.
